IN 2018 Holland didn’t qualify for the World Cup, so I was asked to shoot a very humble and honest reportage that goes ‘back to basics’ and captures genuine football moments across Holland from the north to the south, big cities to small towns, little fields and back gardens to stadiums…

From kids playing after school to the Dutch national team - and all the people who make Dutch football what it is, from coaches to the volunteers handing out lemonade…

The photos were shot for a TV ad which WAS a ‘pep talk’ to the entire nation saying ‘come on out you go, never giving up, just play football.’
