Holland didn’t qualify for the World Cup this year so I was asked by JWT Amsterdam to shoot a very humble and honest reportage that goes ‘back-to-basics’ and captures genuine football moments across Holland from the north to the south, big cities to small towns, little fields and back gardens to stadiums…
From kids playing after school to the Dutch national team - and all the people who make Dutch football what it is, from coaches to the volunteers handing out lemonade…
The photos were shot for a TV ad which is a ‘pep talk’ to the nation saying ‘come on out you go, never giving up, just play football.’

Loved shooting the World Cup Final in Paris. This years World Cup in Russia was a World Cup like no other. Holland, the USA and Italy didn’t quality, Panama, Peru and Switzerland did. World Cup favourites Germany, Argentina, Spain and Portugal crashed out. No one expected much of the Russian team but they defied all expectations to make it the quarter finals. England also made it through to the Semi-Finals and was such a close game. For the final I was lucky to be in Paris watching with around 1 million fans at the Eiffel Tower. What a game - Congrats to France! X

Happy to be part of the CALM Photography Exhibition to raise awareness and funds for the charity CALM who are dedicated to preventing male suicide. This photo was taken at the Shatila Palestinian Refugee Camp in Beirut. The camp was set up in 1949 and is now home to over 100,000 Palestinian refugees, since the eruption of war in Syria the population has doubled. The show aims to shine a light on men's emotions and opens at the Getty Images Gallery in central London from the 10th to the 20th of May. Big respect to Wally and everyone who made this happen X
